LOAVES is a dark comedy about love, a not so simple murder plot,
and of course, bread! A
small Midwestern town has just been
shaken by the bow & arrow shooting of Ice Cream Bob, the beloved local ice cream vendor. Who could commit such a heinous crime? As Detective McCulley is
about to find out, the answer is a little "involved." Eldon Puckett, a local grain elevator employee, has just confessed to the "accidental" shooting of Bob, along with the several murder attempts of
his intended victim, Mrs. Slimp, his cousin Russel's wife. Russel, for fear of endangering his job with his father-in-law at the Yonder Bread Co. right before his two week
vacation, and with loving encouragement from his less than darling
girlfriend Tammy, quickly realizes there is only one way to get rid of his overweight wife. With two thousand bucks, an unlimited
supply of bread, and an ingrained loyalty that can only come from a cousin saving a cousin from a three wheeling accident, Eldon takes on the job of hitman so that Russel and Tammy may finally have their
blissful happiness. But after a string of bad luck and a shocking development of romantic feelings for the ample woman, Eldon is unable to fulfill his cousinly duties. After all, "love can cast
its wicked spell in even the most remote of origins."
Detective McCulley soon learns that things aren't always so simple in a simple town. |
